New Jersey Devils #3 Ken Daneyko joins me on Sportsblog to talk 1995 Devils Alumni Weekend

This past weekend, the New Jersey Devils honored the 20th Anniversary of their 1995 Stanley Cup Championship.  Saturday, there was a unique Alumni Game, where members of that championship team played a game. Sunday, a glorious pre-game ceremony, where the players were introduced and the Stanley Cup was in the building.

Among the highlights was Martin Brodeur playing Center for the 1st 2 periods, and then donning his iconic uniform and goalie mask and headed between the pipes.

Scott Stevens,  Scott Neidermayer, & Ken Daneyko are all Devils' legends who have had their number retired by the franchise. I spoke with Daneyko about the weekend. We covered what is was like, the iconic players involved, the class and dignity the franchise showed these retired players.  We touched on Brodeur's return, and what it means for his place with the franchise.

Its a chat that I was privileged to be able to conduct.  Ken & I have done shows together, and he is now finishing his 1st season as the Devils' Color Commentator on MSG+. I was planning on sitting down with him when the season ended, but this was such a great weekend that I was able to witness both as a broadcaster and as a fan, the timing of this chat couldn't be better.
